sucking jeepney rides

Filipino culture has showcased the significant benefits of the jeepney as a form of mass transportation in our country. Its low-cost production and artistic ornaments make it one of the reasons why it has been in our streets since its birth after the American occupation.

When I was still studying and up until now on my way to work, I daily ride a jeepney from our town proper in Polo, Valenzuela City to Monumento in Caloocan City. I fondly remember moving sceneries of houses, establishments and other buildings during every ride. As I often enjoy travelling and seeing places, I feel like heaven when hopping on these vehicles. Yet recently, I have been in hell in every jeepney ride. Not because of the rising oil prices, reflective of the jeepney fares but of the entire horrific experience.
